Tropical Seed Company, the oldest entity under Opex Holdings was one of the first private agriculture companies to be incorporated in Sri Lanka. It began as a partnership back in 1972, but attained the status of a 'Company' about the same time Sri Lanka opened its doors to the system of an open economy in the late 70s. At that time, our main focus was the supply of vegetable and potato seeds. In those times supplying of seeds to Sri Lanka was carried out by the Department of Agriculture on a tender basis. This scenario changed with the new outlook in the country's policies based on a market economy under a new a political environment. |

Weed scientists and experts convened at this location to discuss, share and publish on their recent developments, research work and new trends on weed science. |
