The Sales Conference 2010 organized by the Management of Opex Holdings on the 13 March, 2010 brought together a significant number of agro dealers covering the length and breadth of our country. It was an event that was organized to inform the objectives and business strategies of the company to be adopted in the new financial year. At the same time Opex honored and rewarded agro dealers who had contributed immensely towards progress of the organization during the current financial year.
Speaking at this event the Managing Director of Opex Holdings said the company hoped to introduce at least 2 new products in the crop protection items sector each year in the future. He further added that Opex will import the finest quality of hybrid corn to Sri Lanka for the benefit of the farmers very soon. He was confident that this new hybrid corn variety would be an instant success in the corn cultivation areas of Sri Lanka when introduced. Meanwhile, the Managing Director also pledged to introduce new hybrid vegetable seed varieties especially suited for the dry zone areas of Sri Lanka within the next couple of years.
Looking ahead, into the future of the agriculture sector in general and Opex Holdings in particular the Managing Director said that the company intended to focus a lot in the paddy cultivation sector by offering unique herbicides. In conclusion he reiterated that he was confident that within the next 3 - 5 years Opex Agro will have the pride of having the best range of 'Proprietary' products among the agriculture companies in Sri Lanka.
